Iolanda Bianchi ha realizado su doctorado entre la IUAV de Venecia (programa de Planificación Urbana y Políticas Públicas) y la Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (programa de Política, Políticas Públicas y Relaciones Internacionales). Iolanda es licenciada en Arquitectura por la Universidad de Ferrara, especializada en Regeneración Urbana por la UCL-The Bartlett School of Planning e interesada en todos los aspectos críticos de la planificación. Se interesa por todos los aspectos críticos de la planificación y su tesis doctoral se centra en los bienes comunes en el entorno urbano barcelonés. Su tesis, supervisada por Dr. Ismael Blanco Fillola y Dr. Guido Borelli y titulada “Dentro, en contra, más allá y a través del Estado. Límites y posibilidades de los Comunes Urbanos en Barcelona” “ fue defendida el 9 de Noviembre de 2018 en Italia. Thesis available soon.
Estefanía Cruz Lera (PhD candidate, 2015) holds a B.A. in International Relations and a M.Res in International Studies from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). Her research interests are Transnational Migrations, Migration Policy in North America, Refugees in the Americas and Contemporary Politics in North America Her last peer reviewed papers published are: “Young Immigrants’ Association and the Future Latino Leadership in the U.S.: Dreamers’ Social Capital and Political Engagement” (2016) and “Movilidad forzada por las dinámicas del narcotráfico: variables para el análisis del proceso de asilo por violencia de mexicanos hacia EE.UU.” (2017). She has presented several papers in international conferences in Mexico, U.S., Argentina, Greece and Spain. Estefanía Cruz is associated in the the following networks: Seminario Permanente de Migración (UNAM), AMEI, Latin American Studies Association (LASA), Red Latinoamericana para la Enseñanza del Derecho de Refugiados (Hungarian-Helsinki Committee and ACNUR) and BIARI Ethnicity and Conflict Research Network (Watson Institute, Brown University) . She conducted her Doctoral Research about immigrants’ political incorporation at the city level, under the supervision of Eva Østergaard-Nielsen and Margarita Leon. Estefania defended her thesis “Estructura de Oportunidad Política Local e Incorporación Política de los Inmigrantes: La Multifacética Incorporación Política de los Latinos en Chicago” on October 29, 2018. Virginia Caetano Baumhardt (PhD candidate, 2016) and in Sociology, at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), Brazil. Member of the research group Society and Public Policies (grupo de pesquisa Sociedade e Políticas Públicas), hosted by the Brazilian Council for Scientific and Technological Development. Researches agenda setting processes for mass media regulation, in South America. Virginia Caetano Baumhardt thesis “El tipus de governança de la comunicació social a Amèrica del Sud, a les dècades del 2000 i 2010: el cas del Brasil” was defended in June 2018 in Brazil. Jordi Mas (PhD candidate, 2014) was a predoctoral researcher FPI-MINECO at IBEI (Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals) where he teaches Introduction to Research Methods and International Relations Theory. He holds a MSc in Political Economy of Europe (LSE) and a MSc in International Relations, Security and Development at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Previously, he studied the undergraduates of Journalism (UAB) and Political Science and Public Management (UAB). His main interests are the European Union, political economy, welfare state and fiscal federalism. His doctoral thesis looks at the impact that the cohesiveness of the European Union’s regional partners has in the prospects of concluding an interregional free trade agreement. Jordi is a member of the European Foreign Policy Observatory, participates in the research project EU-NORMCON (Normative contestation in Europe: Implications for the EU in a changing global order) and has participated in the research project EU-IANUS (The EU in an Unsettled International System: Crisis, Polarity and Multilateralism). His thesis “The role of trade partners' cohesiveness in the conclusion of interregional agreements with the European Union” supervised by Esther Barbé Izuel and Patricia García-Durán Huet was defended on October 26th 2018. Rubén Martínez holds a BA Fine Arts from the University of Barcelona and a Master in Political Science and Social Transformation from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. His Masters research dealt with the conceptual frameworks of social innovation in public policies. He holds a FPI scholarship linked to TRANSGOB: the role of participatory governance in times of crisis and austerity. This research project addresses the impact of the economic crisis on the forms of urban governance in Spain and the United Kingdom. Previously, he was also part of P2P Value, a research project funded by EC FP7 focused in analyze value production in the network. Based on a comparative analysis between Barcelona and Madrid, his doctoral research analyzes the transformations in the social power relationship and urban conflict management processes that take place under public policies that foster social innovation. She works under supervision of Dr. Joan Subirats and Dr. Marc Pradel.

Pol Morillas (PhD candidate, 2015) is research fellow in European affairs at CIDOB, the Barcelona Centre for International Affairs. He is a political scientist, holds a Master's degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and is a PhD candidate at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). He is an associate lecturer at the UAB, Blanquerna University and ESADE, where he is a part-time lecturer in European Foreign Policy and Theory of International Relations. He is also a member of the Observatory of European Foreign Policy. He has been Head of the Euro-Mediterranean Policies Department of the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), Coordinator of the Political and Security Committee of the Council of the EU, Advisor on External Action at the European Parliament and Analyst of the Cabinet of the President of CIDOB.

Eduardo Villareal (Phd Candidate 2014) holds a master degree in Public Policies from el Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económica (CIDE). He is a professor and researcher at FLACSO-México.
